What is CrossFit?

“The aim of CrossFit has been to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness”.

Our gym in Whitley Bay offers great inclusive fitness classes in which to train, with members from all ages and backgrounds. This helps make it a fantastic place to increase you fitness, along side a great community spirit running through all CrossFit classes.

Our CrossFit classes are constantly varied and incorporate the high-intensity fitness elements that CrossFit is well known for!

CrossFit uses functional movements as part of the Sport of Fitness.

Functional Fitness is widely talked about in Fitness Industry, with these becoming the new buzz words.

What is Functional Fitness?

Functional Fitness utilises Functional movements, which are universal motor recruitment patterns. These are performed in a wave of contraction from core to extremity; and they are compound movements. These movements can be found in everyday life, being natural, effective, and efficient locomotors of the body.

No aspect of functional movements is more important than their capacity to move large loads over long distances and to do so quickly.

CrossFit More

CrossFit More is in situated in Whitley Bay Town Centre, which is easily accessible for those living in Tynemouth, Cullercoats, North Shields as well as other localities in North Tyneside. With free car parking nearby and on site, proximity to multiple bus stops and close access to the Tyne and Wear Metro Stations (Monkseaton and Whitley bay) CrossFit More is more accessible than you may think!

As would be expected from a top level gym offering high level fitness classes, CrossFit More has a large Rogue Fitness Rig. The Rig has multiple pull up stations, ropes and 6 sets of full height Olympic rings. The size and configuration of this key bit of fitness equipment allows for greater variation and facilitation of advanced programming through the classes 

Along with the high quality fitness experience we have opted for high quality fitness equipment, helping to ensure our top quality CrossFit experience. Even if you are not going to the CrossFit Games you can still use the same equipment as those elite athletes at the CrossFit Games – both our mens and girls Olympic weightlifting bars are Rogue.

Along with Gymnastic style movements, Weightlifting and throwing, Metabolic conditioning is another key component of CrossFit. As would be expected with have multiple Assault Air Bikes, Concept 2 Rowers and Concept 2 Skiers, which are incorporated into the class programming.

The gym atmosphere is both friendly and welcoming with a real community spirit. We have a membership base of a varying ages and varying levels of athleticism. All movements can be scaled which allows for an all inclusive fitness program.
